Taking the stage and immediately rocking into The Everchanging Spectrum of a Lie, The Joy Formidable set the tone for their performance. Thrashing around and making sometimes pretty scary faces, Ritzy Bryan of the North Wales based indie trio took you on an interesting journey. One moment singing delicately then screaming at the top of her lungs over the rhythmic beats of her band mate Matt Thomas and bass melodies by Rhydian Dafydd.
Drawing an interesting mix of fans, the Joy Formidable was definitely the most intense and in-your-face of the three bands that performed that night. However they showed a softer side when they took a moment to talk about how every tour they donate money to a charity and this one was for homeless people in the US.
Bryan and Dafydd had a blast moving around the stage and sometimes pushing and bashing into each other. All-in-all an entertaining and energetic show to have watched.
